The Groove is the most fundamental movement you should learn no matter what dance style you are learning. The Groove is what takes someone from just simply doing steps to dancing.
There are many different ways to Groove, but for Breakin' purposes, you will, for the most part, be doing a back groove or sometimes called an up groove.
For the back groove, you will be leaning back on the whole counts and resetting or leaning forward on the in between counts (the "and" counts)
Some tips for learning how to Groove:
- Loosen up your body and relax into the movement vs. trying to force the movement causing you to become rigid or flexed.
- Think of the Groove as bouncing between 2 points vs. sticking at each point. This will allow your body to flow through the movement.
