The crossover step is one of the most recognizable Toprock steps that most beginners first learn.
Some tips for learning how to do the Crossover Step:
- The Crossover step in essentially the same as the 2 step where you still focus on resetting or centering your body on the odd counts or the "bass" in the music and stepping across your body, either in front or behind, on the even counts or the "snares" in the music
- Just like the 2 Step, make sure to dive into the water vs test the water. Put your weight into the direction you are stepping vs. keeping your weight on your back/center leg
