The 2 step sets the foundation for all of the basic fundamental Toprock movements.

Some tips for learning how the 2 Step:

  • The Breakin' 2 step focuses on resetting or centering your body on the odd counts or the "bass" in the music and stepping out in a direction of your choice on the even counts or the "snares" in the music
  • Make sure to dive into the water vs test the water. Put your weight into the direction you are stepping vs. keeping your weight on your back/center leg
  • You can step out in any direction you want. Once you learn the combination practice stepping in different directions

These tutorials are meant to help spread the knowledge I have been fortunate enough to come across throughout my years of dancing. By no means is this the only way to teach or learn how to dance, but this might be one way that helps someone further understand the art of Breakin'. To keep with the positive spirit of the dance community, all negative comments towards other people will be deleted immediately.
