Both the “Kick” and the “Skip” add variation to the basic “2 Step” and set the foundation for learning future Toprock steps

Some Tips for learning the Toprock “Kick” and “Skip”

  • Both the “Kick” and the “Skip” add an in between count to the “2 Step” so while practicing, count 1,and,2,and… instead of 1,2,3,4…
  • Your Kick or Skip will happen on the odd counts or you can think of kicking the bass sound
  • The leg that took a step out is the leg that will kick or skip next
  • To add the “Groove”, remember to rock back on the whole counts and reset/rock forward on the WHOLE counts

These tutorials are meant to help spread the knowledge I have been fortunate enough to come across throughout my years of dancing. By no means is this the only way to teach or learn how to dance, but this might be one way that helps someone further understand the art of Breakin'. To keep with the positive spirit of the dance community, all negative comments towards other people will be deleted immediately.
